1 Learning Target
As a leader I can learn to delegate task to others & trust things will be done.
I really admire ....
I admire Clive Davis for the fact that he took on musical artists that other companies and managers would not work with. I have so much respect for Mr. Davis, was an orphaned teenager with no money and later he received a full scholarship to New York University.
Quincy Jones Productions is a pioneer in leading and developing talent. His biggest client was Michael Jackson. Mr. Jones is a great leader in the Music Business and a pioneer that helped break down racial barriers. I admire his persistence and longevity in the music business. I'm extremely found of his diversity in the entertainment business.
Let me tell you about ....
I have not had the ideal upbringing or the easiest life. My childhood resembled that of a rock star. My mother gave me away when I was 2 months old and returned for me when I was 5 years oldand later abandoned me again when I was 15 years old. Between the ages of 13 and 15 years old I was awarded to the State of New York. I was in and out of the foster care and group home systems. During my teenage years I worked to become self-sufficient and self-reliant. I supported myself financially and was only focused on surviving daily life. It was a social worker, which I came to know in one of the group homes, which suggested that I attend college. I thought he was crazy and ignored him; I later found out that he completed and submitted paper work for me to attend College. It was this opportunity that made me hopeful about attending the very best life had to offer. Although I am the 1st generation on both sides of my family to have a college degree, my dreams of success have not yet been realized. My past is simply the cleft notes of my triumphs.
My goal in the music business field is to be a multifaceted Artist Manager. Leveraging my business development skills, increasing my knowledge in the entertainment industry, and improving my interpersonal skills. Aside from studying for my Masters Degree in Music Business at New York University I have already have taken steps to ensure my success. Primarily, I have studied and received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Artist Management, Psychology, concentration in personality development and personality disorders & a minor in Entertainment Law. While seeking additional education, I have created two companies which I plan to grow and utilize to complement my future career as an Artist Manager. Nichelle EMC Inc. is a full service management and consulting company whose mission is to help the careers of independent artist and entertainers. SHYLA is a private entertainment school designed to maximize the artistic potential of young adults. With both my companies I am gaining first hand experience as to the amount of time, knowledge and dedication it takes to run a successful business.
