Short Intro. Hey! My name is Aamer Khan, I am a highly passionate and unique individual. I like to see how businesses can grow and how different industries can come together, in order to advance both. At my core I believe that everything you do matters, therefore I have to five my hundred percent in anything I am committing. My is to constantly grow myself as a person and always be thinking ten steps ahead of the crowd. 

Where Have I Been? I am a graduate of Brooklyn College, with a B.S. in Biology, and a B.A. in Psychology. I graduated in the summer of 2016. While at Brooklyn College I was a part of the CLAS student government media and outreach committee. I also am a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity since 2013, where I managed our social media accounts, which were not very active, until I stepped in and re-vamped them.

Where Am I Now? I am currently at Rescuing Leftover Cuisine as a paid search where I am learning Google Adwords, and managing digital marketing campaigns. I also currently work for the Division of Student Affairs at CUNY Brooklyn College, as a Commencement Assistant, what I've learned is administrative skills and working in an office environment. I joined COOP because I was very interested in learning about tech, and digital marketing is just the first step on this journey for me. I want to know the skills a digital marketer has in order to help companies grow. I also loved the concept of community and hustle that came with COOP.

Where Am I Going? In the near future I wish to start my career in the digital marketing industry, It's strange as somehow even though my majors had nothing to do with it at, I've had the presence of a digital marketing around me this whole time. I understand people because of the work I've done in psychology, as well as biology. My goal is to continue growing in the field, as I learn all the different facets of digital marketing, from SEO to UX/UI design. In ten years, I want to start my own agency or other kinds of entrepreneurial endeavors.  want to know how "modern" marketing works.

Why do you like this company? Google is the number one search engine that exists. What makes them special? Is there a leader at this organization you really admire?

        Twitch is an online live streaming platform where broadcasters can release and perform their content in real-time with viewer interaction live. I first found out of Twitch several years ago when I wanted to find a hobby that doesn't involve being the viewer but a content creator. Now as a live broadcaster, I consider Twitch as my second hobby, influencing many individuals around the world with my creative content and entertainment.

Why do you like this company? What makes them special? Is there a leader at this organization you really admire?

Let me tell you about ...

During my last semester in Brooklyn College, while I was on the student government I was tasked with coordinating an event called the "Cultural Festival, Talents around the world." It is an annual event the college hosts, though this time it was being funded by the student government body. en did this happen? What was the organization/college? What was your role? 

For the event I was given a 2000$ dollar budget, but a week before the event it was cut down to 750$ due to a miscommunication between the speaker of the house and the president of student government What was the challenge or situation you were facing?

With my budget being cut so drastically, I had to act fast. The first thing I had to do was find new caterers, which were cheaper, second I had to call the different clubs that had been scheduled for the events and make sure whatever they needed for the event was in budget. Finally as a liaison between the College and the student government, I had to explain to the dean of students what had happened, and communicate that all was going to be alright, and to not cancel the event. What actions did you take? Why did you make those decisions? Be specific!

In the end I stayed within the 750$ budget, with over 150 students showing up, I was nervous that we would run out of food, due to the drastic cut that was done to the budget, but everything turned out fine. After the event I was thanked by both faculty and students, and was told that it was one of the best events they had attended that year.What were the end results/outcomes?

I learned that when I am put in a tough situation I am not someone who gives up, I could have complained that my budget had been cut so badly, but instead I adapted and found a solution for my problems. I believe this is an important skill to have because life happens, and especially in a field like digital marketing, where things change every day, one needs to be able to adapt.  What did you learn? How can this be applied to this and other roles?
