Tony Tamer

Tony is the Founding Chairman of COOP Careers. He has helped launch the organization from its outset, and has been a strong advocate for improved employment opportunities in the digital economy for underprivileged young adults.

Tony currently serves on the board of the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise at Columbia University, and on the boards of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), The NY Presbyterian Hospital, the Museum of Modern Art in NY (MoMA), and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.  He also serves on the Dean's Council of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government.

Tony is the Founder and Co-CEO of H.I.G. Capital, a leading global private equity and alternative assets investment firm. He previously held positions at Bain & Company, Hewlett-Packard, and Sprint Corporation. 

He holds an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School, and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. His undergraduate degree is from Rutgers University.
