COOP hybrid fellowship FAQs

For fall 2024

  • Where will in-person programming be held?

    • All on-site programming will be held at a location in Union Square in Manhattan. More information to come.

  • What are the benefits of the hybrid fellowship?

    • Being in-person will help to build connections, culture and community between fellows, enhancing the COOP experience.

  • What are the in-person dates for programming? 

    • One day per week each week for each cohort and that day (Mon-Thurs) will remain the same for the entire semester.

  • What if I cannot attend a class on a scheduled in-person day? 

    • Please note that there is no virtual option for students that cannot attend their scheduled in-person class day. If a student cannot attend class on a day they are scheduled to be in-person with their cohort, that day will be counted as an absence. The student should follow up with a Captain or Program Manager regarding any work to be completed.

  • Is there specific content covered in-person instead of virtually?

    • Most in-person days will focus on workshops, resume reviews and other group activities. However, there will be some in-person days that focus on training-specific content tied to the various platforms and programming languages.

  • What type of attire would be expected for in-person days?

    • Overall dress code is casual for the majority of in-person days with business casual attire required for partnership/networking events.

  • Considering delays and challenges with transit, what would be the best way to inform a Program Manager or Captain about being late (phone/Slack/email)?

    • Captains and Program Managers will ask that students use Slack to communicate when transit issues arise and they may be late to class. 

  • Is it possible to switch into a virtual cohort if hybrid becomes untenable?

    • Unfortunately, we will not be able to move students between cohorts after Induction Week (week one).

  • Will I still be able to participate in non-class community days if I'm virtual?

    • Optional in-person social gatherings/events will available be for both hybrid and virtual fellows.
